Heartstring is a Melbourne based theatre company formed in 2016. Our aim is to create dynamic, thought-provoking theatre, interpreting both classical and new work. At Heartstring we will endeavour to address the shortage of great and interesting roles for women by producing plays where at least half of the actors on stage are women.
Heartstring's Artistic Directors are Elisa Armstrong and Joanne Booth. Their premiere production was William Shakespeare's CORIOLANUS, performed with an all-female cast, at the Mechanics Institute, Brunswick April 27 - May 8, 2016.
Their next production was MARIE ANTOINETTE, written by David Adjmi, which premiered at Northcote Town Hall, July 5- 15, 2018.
